Ok I know that I can record and playback those recordings on Homeport. The question is can they be replayed on the unit itself? I have not been able to find anything on this. Does anyone know?

No playback on unit. Must be with HomePort.

I did a recording on my 93 sv and had the si range set at 7o ft. but when I played it in homeport the recording only went out to 28ft. or so
Whats up with that.
If you were to look back to last year I had several posts and conversations about this very thing. That's the way it is and it ain't changing. I was hoping to use it more as a learning/observing tool but, alas, this is the design. However, it came without additional cost so.... You can alter the 'range' you see only by recording in a different depth of water esp to start. Shallow start will get you more distance, but as soon as you go deep it reduces. I guess it is designed so that you 'see' only a certain distance from the ducer regardless of distance of scan set.
that is pretty much useless right there!
I tend to agree with you in that I really wanted to be able to review sv recordings at home on the puter. I have blind spots in both eyes due to disease and surgeries and looked forward to being able to study lake structure and cover at home. Not part of the design plan even tho it was presented that way to me before purchase. What irritated me most about the whole back and forth was they told me no one ever tried to use it as I was trying. So, I'm especially glad to hear your voice. However, it does replay quite well the dv and 2d recordings one might make. I follow my trails and look at the dv pics. Interesting at least, so we do get that much out of it. Not a total loss, just doesn't do the thing I wanted the most.
