    Auto livewell fill?

I have a 02 Skeeter zx190 and the auto livewell fill does turn off. It will fill the wells and run over into the bilge area. Seems odd to me. Or at least thats how it appears. Is there a level adjustment? The recirc and timed areator works good, it just keeps them filled to very top and bilge will occansionally come on. Any ideas?

Check your overflow piping. It should overflow to the outside, from the back of the boat.

If I understand it sounds like you have the switch (on dash) in manual instead of auto. Manual will run until you tur it off and auto will be on a timer.

I had it in auto last weekend and that is when this started. I had it on auto and was observing the auto bilge coming on about every 5minuts and the live well on the passenger side was full out of the lid.

Could your toggle switch just be installed upside down? If so,you would be in manual mode when you thought you were in auto. Had this happen to me years ago with a 12/24 trolling motor.

    Re: (JRE)

I dont have a 190 I have a 200 xz and I have the same problem. I was told there is no level switch. Mine will over flow and go into my driver side compartment even on auto. What I do now is fill about half to 3/4 full and then turn on auto fill. It works off the same timer my recirc. timer does. If it gets to high I just pump out and keep going. If I dont need the cooler water I just leave off and recirc only. The water going into the storage is from a bad seal under the deck. I hope this helps.

Never heard of that. I leave mine on manuall fill all the time to change the water out. When it gets full it just runs out the overflow tube and out the rear of the boat.

Are you sure the leak isn't from the pump or valve? If the water is just showing up in the Bildge area, i would check all the connections as I bet something is leaking. Every 5 minutes sounds more like a slow leak than a pump running wide open.

The reason why I think is the livewell is one will be filled to the lid. What is the correct way to use the auto fill, recirc and aerator? Maybe I am not using correctly? I have left on the recirc and aerator at the same time. Not sure if it matters???

    Re: (StrikeWorks Tackle Co.)

I have left my pump running in manual mode and it overflowed into the bilge. You have to think that the overflow is not that big plus the end of the hose is below the water surface sonit will not be flowing out as quick as it's filling up. Also I doubt that there are gaskets between the livewell plastic and bottom of the deck. At least there is none on my boat (SX 190).

For you valve acuator auto position will fill the livewell with water from the outside; recirculate will close the valve off and will recirculate the water inside the lw. Now the switches on the dash is auto and manual. As for the switch Auto will put it on a timer and will cut on/off every several minutes and manual will run until you cut it off.

    Re: (fishin couillon)

not too sure, but something must be a miss between a few boats.

I have a 2005 TZX200 and there must be something different between our boats.

I have two positions on my valves Open and Closed
Open lets the well fill up, and closes lets it drain

On my dash i have two different selections for each well

    Recirculation on manual or auto
manual keeps it on 100% of the time
Auto puts it on the timer

Fresh Water on manual or auto
Manual keeps the fill going 100% of the time
Auto keeps adding fresh water as the timer allows

Either one of theses selections will circulatate water through the well, and if the valve is closed and the water level rises enough, all my overflow goes out the 2" overflow line.
I haven't ever even seen it close to overflowing or backing up. I would make sure the overflow isnt blocked or kinked.

If I leave mine on manual the overflow can't keep up and it will overflow into the bilge also.

    Re: (mikeky)

I'm thinking there is a distinct livewell system change at some point between models or model year. That explains why some guys with the newer, bigger boats are not seeing this issue. My 2000 ZX185C will overflow into the bilge if left on manual and at some settings on automatic on the timer. I have to tweak the remote fill levers, one open and one partially open to get the desired water level and recirculation.

    Re: (Skinnyside)

had to try mine out. I've got a 07 zx 225. The livewell deck, under the lid, has a couple of overflow slots cut into it. My livewell pumps the water completely full, on manual AND automatic. It flows over through these slots, and into the bilge area. I know my livewell overflow works at some point, because the water level will get lower while I'm running, but my timer/auto mode pumps too much water, and I have the same issue. So they haven't fixed anything, as far as newer model years. Every skeeter I've owned has done the same thing.
