06 225HO Maintenance

How often should the fuel filter be changed on this beast? I had it changed back in Feb at around 80hrs, I am right at 150hrs now. Should I go ahead and change it again, or wait til it is on for a year? I figure I am using mine quite a bit more than the average person per year and wondering if I should change it more frequently? Oh, and we are not running E10 fuel down here yet...Still good ol fashioned 87 octane gasoline....

AB, I have been changing my filter on my DI once a year from day one. I do not put the hours on mine though that you do. With the fuels that we are having to push through our engines these days, I am pretty sure that I am going to start changing mine our twice per year............spring and fall. .......................Roger

Dealer told me once per year. But, like Roger said, if you run lots of hours maybe twicer per year for you, LOL!!

Yeah, as cheap as they are I guess I should go ahead and do it. With this boat I am averaging 125hrs per year...that's a lot of engine run time! Although according to the EMM 50% of that time is at idle. I hate them no wake zones... Only 2% of my time is over 5500, most is around 4000...Shocked the hell outta me when they told me that...

The advertising clearly states "NO SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FOR 3 YEARS" Of course they also state half the oil usage with xd-100 too....

While I believe their ad campaign, I also am a firm believer that clean fuel = clean injectors = happy motor....A little preventative maintenance never hurt anybody. I also change the fuel filter on my own and my customers vehicles every 10K miles even though most manufacturers recomend replacement at 30K intervals. Gasoline in today's world sucks and I surely don't mind the few dollars the filter costs to make sure that no crap is going to the injectors.

I can vouch for the half oil usage. I go through roughly 1 gallon every 2-3 months. Fishing my home lakes, it takes me about 10 trips to burn a half of a gallon of oil. When I had the last map updates the software reset the EMM to the XD50 setting. I dam near had a heart attack when it burnt a half gallon of oil in two trips....

Mine too. Looks like the default on the updates is the TCW3 setting.

Actually it is no scheduled dealer maintenance for 3 years or 300 hours.

Yep, the laptop software is programmed to automatically reset HO motors to the TCW3 setting when they hook it up. Tech won't even know it has done it. They are able to reset it back to XD100, they just have to remember to do it after each time the laptop is plugged in.

I wouldn't consider changing the water separator/filter part of the scheduled maintenance. Wouldn't be any different if the filter/separtor was not part of the engine.

Guess you would run ur until she blew due to water in your gas just like you probably never change your oil and filter on your tow vehicle.........
