compartment lights problem

I bought a 2003 TZX 190 this winter and now that I'm getting it ready for spring I have found the previous owner must have changed the compartment lights to where they are on as soon as I turn my main power switch on. I would like them on the courtesy switch. Does anyone by chance know which color the livewell/compartment light wire is?

Don't know about the wire color. I would check to make sure the courtesy switch is not shorted and if you have a volt meter, make sure the wire is coming off the correct leg of the switch. It may be a shorted switch or wired wrong.

Mike's right, most boat's the standard color wire for lights is blue in one form or another (stripe/no stripe)
You could turn all the lights on and randomly start cutting wires, it's a great way to learn what each wire is for
