    4 batteries in a 2009 ZX190

I am looking at going to a 36 volt trolling motor and would need to add another battery in the rear compartment. Currently the oil tank is sitting where the 4th battery would go. Is it possible to move the oil tank back between the charger and the back of the boat? I noticed this is where it is mounted in the new FX, not that this is like that, but I like that location better.

I haven't really looked that closely at this yet, but thougth maybe someone else has already done this and could save me some headaches.

    Thanks in advance.

My battery compartment has the oil tank in the back like you describe. It is mounted to a plate that spans the well where all the pumps and stuff are. I am sure you could probably get that plate from a dealer or fabricate something yourself.

Cam', my TZX 190 has the oil tank on that aluminum plate like Neil discribes. My cranking battery is sitting by itself on the starboard side as is my battery charger (as my 2 trolling motor batteries sit on the port side)..... thus in my boat, all I'd have to do is move the charger somewhere else and put another battery tray & battery.

I too have given this much consideration if my Maxxum ever dies.

Let me know ASAP if you'd like to have pictures of my tank location. If I don't do it today it ill be Monday of next week

Ranger - I appreciate the offer for the pictures. I should be alright. I beliece my oil tank is actually on the plate, but was installed on the side with the cranking battery to offset the weight of the other 2 batteries.

    Thanks again,

Why add more weight to the boat when you can run 36v with three batteries? Ensure your cranking battery is a dual purpose 31 group and the other two are at least 27s. Been running three battery system since 02 and and just 3 months ago installed my third set.

    Camalama,
Will you let me know what you do if you decide to go with a 4 battery setup? I have a 07 ZX190 and also thinking about go to 4 batteries putting all my electronics on a battery by itself. Mine is also like yours and has the oil tank where the 4th battery would be.

    Thanks,
    Cody

Rich - I know you're probably right, but that makes me nervous. With my luck, I'd run my trolling motor battery down and then get stuck. Or more likey, I'd somehow short out the batteries and then not be able to start the big motor. Even in my big boat, I run a second battery for cranking.

Cody - I will let you how it goes. Gotta buy the trolling motor first, and that's not so cheap, so I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet.

I have an 06 ZX-190. I have enough room next to the cranking battery to put a 4th battery. My oil tank and charger is across the bilge area on a plate. I think the newer ones are set-up different in back

I have a 36 volt in my TZX 190 from the factory. The battery charger is located under the drivers seat. The carpet is just trimmed around the perimeter of the battery charger for obvious reasons. The oil tank is mounted in the center of the bilge area on the metal plate. Then, two batteries mount on each side beside the gas tanks. Like I said, this was a factory upgrade with mine.
