Hi guys
i am purchasing a sx 170 with a 115hp optimax pro xs and i am just wondering if anyone has had experiences with the sx170.
if so could you please let me knowwhat size motor you were running, top speed, prop sizes etc

I had an sx 180 w/115 on it and lovd th boat alot had it for 10 years. was not aware you could put a 115 on a 170. that thing should haul a$$. mine ran about 50 51 bye myself. great stable boat ..... you will love it. I really liked the fuel millage i would get. i could go 2 week on 6 gallons of gas, were as my 200 yammy drinks that and more on one outing, but i have a real heavy foot and liketo go fast.

Hi Mate.
I have a 2008 SX170 with a 2009 Suzuki DF 90 A Fourstroke.
Will do 46 mph , Great little boat for what I do here in Australia.
Have done a heap of Mods to it , if you are interested.
Had it out in extreme storms and bad weather.
Use in comps , had it for 15 months now.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Have mates who have them with 115 hp E Techs and Merc Optimax.
First big tip change steering to Hydraulic ( Baystar ).

I have a SX170 with a 90 horse on it. I am not up on props and run it as purchased. I hit about 36 mph according to GPS when by myself. 32 would be with a friend and his stuff.

Great little boat. I fish tournaments and we are always the smallest boat. The big guys go by us and we have to fight their waves, but she takes them with a smile. I also fish a great deal on one tank of gas.

Yeah yours is just a bit to big for what me and dad want.
hey stu yeah i am 16 and ive saved for a fair bit and dad is chipping in for the rest but we both fish.

What 90 hp do you have on the back ?
You should get better than 35 Mph ????
Check out Yamahah / Skeeters performance bulletin , it shows 44 mph with a 90 2 stroke Yamie .

Had an SX176 with a 115, 6in jackplate and a 21k yamaha prop pitched down to a 20 made all the difference, 2people 51mph, 56 solo. Find the right prop! makes a difference!

Great picture of your SX170. I have a SX180. The picture taken with a great field of view & your colors makes your SX look like a bad a$$ fishing partner. Good deal...we have great looking boats.
