Eric, 4th post down on the link above will show you how i have my box mounted. I have a SX 190 and put it in the rod box. I decided to make it removable along with my units that i have on Ram mounts. I can take it inside if im on road trips and to keep out the weather. Most guys i've seen (other boats) have put it in the rod boxes.
