Splash Guard for 09 skeeter with 12" Jackplate

I've been noticing with people mounting their structure scan transducers a lot of them have a plate on the bottom of thier Jackplate. Is this for looks or does it server a purpose? If it gives you anything does anyone know if they make one for the jackplate that comes on Skeeter ZX190s?

It's suppose to help speed up holeshot a little by preventing scooping water; as well as help prevent water from 'shooting up' inbetween the sides of the jackplate when coming off plane.

Some guys make there own if there is not one for that particular brand jp. Check the jp's website to see if they make them.

Doug, I am looking for the splash guard not the transducer shield. I am planning on buying a transducer shield from Scap to mount my LSS to my trolling motor. I currently have in attached with zip ties. It works but doesn't look too professional. I just thought the spash guards I saw on some of the guys boats looked pretty cool and I was going to look into if they made one for my boat and how much the cost.

Ssykes is talking about the hole shot plate. I think scape builds just the transducer mounts.

Scap can build anything. Called him a week ago about an adapter bracket for my Vance Jackplate so I can mount my 998 I have ordered. He said he didn't have anything to fit it, although the Slidemaster adapter might be able to be modified. Then he says he'll just build one.He sent me a drawing to fill in with a few measurements and wa la instant adapter. Man is amazing.
