I've driven an Ally pro sport with a 200 merc. and 2 20' Bullets 1 with a 250xb and 1 with a 225 promax. I haven't really stretched any of them out, just up to about 80mph. Not enough seat time! RR

ChampioN 168 (16' 8") with a heavily modified Merc 225. The pucker factor was unbelievable. Luckily we ran out of gas before we killed ourselves.

    Peace,

    Re: (Schulze)

I have driven a Rocket before. They were custom built bass boats made for south LA. The link will show you some photos. The boat in the picture belongs to a friend of mine. He gets 83+ out of this setup with a load. The one I drove was a little slower. It belonged to my brother and had a 225 VMax on it. Still ran upper 70s with a T load.

How about kneeboarding behind a hi perf hull?

OK it was a long time ago behind a Gambler Super Stallion. I let go at about 70.

    Does that count?

Re: CM want's to know how many of you have really ... (ChampioNman)

Drove friend's Bullet w/ 2.5L Merc (Didn't know til later it had been extensively reworked). Friend says that if I can drive 17.5 ft Javelin w/ 150 I should have no problem with his. Ok, I'm game. Took lots of muscle til hit about 70. As GPS approached 90 I thought "what a rush, but if I ever get this thing slowed down I will never complain about my boat only running 65." Friend says I can drive his boat any time. No thanks.
Later drove another friend's TR-22 w/225 Yammie. Not real fast but rides like Caddie.

16 ' Old Town with a MinKota MX65 Propshaft 6" below the keel.

Hole shot is a tad slow
    Turns take a while
Top end ? No speedometer, too lazy to move the GPS from the lead sled
Gas milage OUTSTANDING ! Pretty good on oil too
