    Y cable 2d sonar source capabilities ...

Is there a "Y cable 2d sonar source" setup that can be used with any of the Garmin units bundled with the ClearVu xducer ...??

Pretty sure that's a no. It appears that the "Y" cable only works with a GT30. That makes the "Y" cable arrangement very limited.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

Do we know the limitation that states the Y cable cannot be used in conjunction with the ClearVu xducer ...??

The Y cable (echoMAP CHIRP) and X cable (nonCHIRP echoMAPs) below only allow for echoMAP users to run an inhull xducer for traditional 2D, and a transom-mounted GT30 for Side/ClearVu. The reason that a GT30 must be used in this specific configuration (instead of a GT40, GT52, etc.) is that echoMAPs can only have one source of traditional 2D.

So am I understanding that there is no Garmin Y cable that disconnects the 2d piezo in any of the Garmin Imaging xducers that contain a 2d piezo (such that 2d could be obtained from the other leg of the Y cable instead) ...

Right, there is no adapter cable that will do that.
