    I have a ZX225 but if I was to buy a new one, I would get a 20i with a 250 HPDI.

In dec of 2007 I was in the same situation you are in. I ended up in the ZX250. You have a tough decision to make, fortunatly you wont be wrong with any of the 3.

Re: about to order new skeeter (bigskeeter20i)

I asked this very question and the popular answer was the ZX but the I Class owner's love them. Just drive both, look at your budget and make the decision that fits you best. Like others have said, you won't be sorry with any of them!!!!!

Re: about to order new skeeter (mbroussard)

hey , i am going through the same thing right now, zx or i-class?
new or slightly used? 20 or 21 foot? its enough to drive a crazy person, like me over the edge.even though they say we can't go wrong with any of these..im trying to hold out and make the right decision, but i am about ready to just
draw straws or somthing, hope you are having an easier time with your decision
good luck and let us know what you decide on.

Go the 20i. You can't go wrong with it. Safest boat in rough water. Awesome features and plenty of room behind the console. You really won't be disappointed. If you can afford it, bite the bullet and get one.

Re: about to order new skeeter (Skeet20I)

Made the same decision 3 weeks ago. Ordered a new zx225. Thought I needed an i series, but after test driving, I liked the agility of the zx vs i. If I need to I can always upgrade later. Don't tell my wife that...

Re: about to order new skeeter (Jason Hale)

well..... what in the world is different in the zx 225 and the 20i other than price. length is the same, layout is too. specs. on i class says 1" in depth and not quite 100 lb. diff. hulls look the same. why wouldnt they ride the same. the big thing to me is the boat being long enough to hit the next wave before you come off the one your on. a bigger nose helps when you hit them but they are almost the same. are they built diff or do i class owners say i class and zx owners say zx is the way to go. i have rode in them both in choppy water. to me they are both a ok ride. speed is the same. the 225 vs 250 on fuel is my next question. 225 better or is there a big enough diff. to let that make up my mind. i have not really tried to talk price on the two. sticker on zx225 is low 40's and 20i is upper 40-low 50's. do they come down much or is tht a set price. what can i expect to pay them real money

Re: about to order new skeeter (mbroussard)

How about you call me and we will go test the ZX225 i've got. I love it! Went across Rayburn about 6 times last week and a few were really rough water runs, but the boat handeled well! I think the biggest difference in the Zx and the I class are the eletronics, whats an old country boy need with all those high tech gizmos? lol

Re: about to order new skeeter (ooredbeard)

There are several design changes in the I class. The I Class was designed from the ground up for the best ride and I believe it I've owned both and have had 3 Iclass and soon as I sell this one will order another iClass. ZX rides great but the I Class is a step above.

It is my opinion only but I haven't seen many people who actually had an I Class and went back to a ZX. Someone may correct me on this point.

Re: about to order new skeeter (Bug Bunny)

On a lake like Rayburn I think the ZX 250 might be the way to go. The extra 1' might be better. The price difference from that in the zx 225 was only a couple thousand for me and I love the extra room.
