    2004 Skeeter ZX 225 - Electrical issue

I've got a 2004 Skeeter ZX 225 that I need some help with. I've got two issues:

#1 Every now and then on the push button control panel the lights for the Port and Starboard bilge pumps will come on, even though the pumps aren't running.

#2 This just started happening, and I was pretty sure it was the Lowrance unit, but I have my Lowrance LCX-26C HD powered from the Accessory 1 harness. Recently, the unit will power itself off after only being on a few moments. Well, the other day I tried to turn on the In dash flasher (which is also on an accessory harness) when the Lowrance was powered off, and it would not come on either. After a litle while, both will turnb back on and stay on for a while. Sometiems, they will go off later - but i can't find a pattern.

I was wondering if #2 had something to do with the electrical brain box under the dash. Has anyone else experienced this? If so - PLEASE HELP! What was your fix??

Re: 2004 Skeeter ZX 225 - Electrical issue (Khaotic)

I had the same thing with my 04 zx250 and it was the brain box and soft touch panel. This will need to be replaced and skeeter should pick up the tab on it. but you will have to go to your dealer to have it done. This is providing you are the original owner , if not you will have to pay 250.00 title transfer to Skeeter to have the boat reg. in your name. Then and only then will Skeeter pay for the parts and labor. The box and new dash panel is 600.00+ this does not include the labor. Good luck

Call Darby Pliler at Skeeter. He will help you. His number is 903-983-5648. As long as the warranty is in your name. Skeeter will replace it at no cost to you. They replaced the one in my 03 ZX225 I used to have three times. They have the right fix now. They will retro fit the newer 06 console insert with all new switches and the new box with fuses instead of breakers. No worries after that!

Re: 2004 Skeeter ZX 225 - Electrical issue (Gastonbass)

Thanks a LOT for the info. One thing i forgot to mention, for issue #1, i have had the push button console replaced once. I think that was back in 2005. Either way, it sounds like the fix is something more recent.

So Skeeter is picking up the 'bill' on this under warranty? That is great news. I KNEW there was a reason for being a repeat Skeeter owner. (I moved into the 2004 ZX 225 w/ HPDI 225 from a 2000 ZX202 w/ HDPI 200)

    Thanks again!

I have a 02 ZX 225 and I haev problems with the livewells and garmin on bow. The garmin is wired to the aux and sometimes shuts off. The Port livewell works great but the starboard will not pump in but will recirculate fine. Could this be a control box issue and if so I am the second owner and not transfered will they cover this.

    Yes, probably the same issue.

Turn on your starboard livewell pump to fill and open the compartment on the back and listen for the humm of the motor. If you do not hear anything you may need to replace the pump. Turn this one off and each of the other livewell features on one at a time to find out which motors are working and which one is not. It is not a hard fix if it is one of the pump motors.
