??? About Set up on 202ZX 200 HPDI Year 2000

Ok Guys I have a ?? for this boat set-up, I was out on Havasu yesterday and made a run with my boat Full of gas and livewells full and etc. FULL LOAD

    Havasu is about 500' above Sea I hit 65 mph @ 5700 -5800 RPM with 19PSI Water

Here is the Thing My boat fells like it wants to bounce alot with all the weight, and it does not like to run smoth ( it bounces ALOT @ Lower speeds) I think I'm right around 2.75 - 3' below pad running a 25M

I have a Tubro lighting 25 P I would like to try that has been B&B for Mark if I could get more then 1 run on a lake thats Big without having to put my boat in the shop

Anyways what should I do go up or down or just stop messing with the J/P and take Tackle out of the boat to loss some weight

This is really odd as that year model should run super smooth. I'm assuming you're using the trim correctly at the different speeds as this can be an important factor on Skeeter boats and bouncing so...how do you have it loaded? Weight forward/rear? How much weight is tackle and yourself? You say you "think" your at 2.75-3inche below pad...are you sure of that height?

as for the Below Pad " I had it marked @ 3" and I took it up .5" but on my home lake @ 35MPH it likes to bounce unless I'm trimed down all the way. So I moved it back and I'm thinking I just went half way to the mark.

As for weight I'm 235lbs or so and I have a BPS store in the Boat I would say 400lbs or more of tackle and B/S

400 pounds is a lot of tackle weight. Boat will bounce regardless unless trimmed down...at least that's what I found when I owned a 202 and 225.

Sounds like you need a Bryans Foil

I think I'm going to go though my Tackle Next week and try and cut half of the stuff out to start.
I'm not going to really get to run the boat @ havasu to just play around with the J/P beening that the trny starts in the am and I'm not going to get the boat out of the shop till 2-3pm today and then I have to drive it from Vegas to Havasu and prefish is done @ Dusk

aint that a (202zx) 20fter with a 200hp ? if so i know of a few guys strugglin with speeds for the lack of power to weight ratio, if that boat is a 20fter with a 200, it really needs a 225, beleive it or not 25 xtra horeses plays a big part in that. my old 2001 ZX 225, weight didnt effect that boat hardly at all, it actually handled rough water better with the xtra weight, but on the other hand my new 07 ZX200, the boat almost weighs the same as the 20fter, and it has 25 less hp, therefore the more tackle , or gas, i put in it , it effects this boat tremendously, it slows it down anywhere from 2-4 mph !..

If I'm not mistaken, the 202 ZX was not rated for a 225. In '01 they rebadged it the ZX225 and raised the HP rating, just as they've done with the 20i and raised it to 250. All 3 hulls are 20'2" long.

I have the 98 202c with 1999 200 ox 66 and with 2 people half tanks 67 at 5800. Mine doesn't bounce. I think it is definitely your set up. I don't know my set up but I will check as soon as it quits raining. Check the set ups on the owners board. I would look for the fastest one and go with that to start. I would think with the HPDI you would be faster than mine say 69 or 70 without bouncing.

Re: ??? About Set up on 202ZX 200 HPDI Year 2000 (Blanked Again)

If memory is serving me correct, the 2000 year 200 hpdi were not the fastest motors. If you are running 65-66mph gps on havasu, you are about right for speed. My 97 zx202 I owned with a 200 Pro-V carbed engine would run 67-68 on havasu with two people and tournament gear. I can tell you that weight is a major factor in handling and speed so you might want to look in to your gear for the tournaments?

If the top of you cowling is gray it's a 2.6L 63-67mph will probably be tops.
    Mines an 02 2.6L on a 225 65mph is the best I'm run

Well 1st off the My boat is Rated for a 225 but they didn't make a 225 HPDI in 2000

I had to drop about $ 2000.00 more into the boat/ Motor last week but It is running Good Now I got it to run 66.45 GPS on Mead in 2' rollers on Monday and I was told to just be happy with it. I guess I should be running high 60's if I unloaded it so I'm getting all I can out of her Now
