Adding Fishfinder/GPS to older Skeeters

I have a 2003 TZX190. I would like to add a new fishfinder/GPS at the driver's console area.

Where have others located the transponder and/or is the best place? I think I would like a hull shoot-thru, to avoid problems with bumping an external transom mount.

I believe the transponder for the original flasher may epoxyed the hull in the rear battery/fuel storage area. Would it interfere with a new unit? Or do others disconnect it and put a new transponder here?

Someone told me you might put it beneath the drain in the floor at the seating area. Not sure if the hull here is a direct shoot-thru or some kind of composite or this area might be "out of water" on plane.

If there has been any prior FAQ or posts, bear with me and point me in the right direction.

Welcome to BBC. The area in the back, where the original transducer is mounted, would be the best place. Depending on brand, you may not be able to run both units at the same time.

i epoxied mine directly behind the transducer for the flasher.
