    skeeter vs other brands

Just wondering if any of you switched from a champion to a skeeter or maybe an other brand? What do you like better about your skeeter or maybe what did you like better about the other brand? My reason for this question is because i now own a zx200 and i want to go bigger. I'm thinking about a 21i or 210 Elite. Hopefully you can help me make up my mind.

Re: skeeter vs other brands (zxman200)

I went from a Champion to a Skeeter. I liked the Champion with few exceptions. One was the Champion sat nose high in the water. As you moved around in the boat, it rocked a lot. The second was the width of the boat. It always seemed narrow in comparison to other boats. Fit and finish was good. Mine was a 196 elite with a 200 efi merc. The boat was slow, but handled very well. Another reason which I found to be major to me, was the dealer. He is now out of business. Make your own impressions here. Good luck on your hunt and decisions. Go drive them both and come to your own conclusions. I love my Skeeter....

Re: skeeter vs other brands (BjBnet!)

Well, I sell Skeeters, BassCats, Tritons and Bullets. I dont sell Champions, so I dont have much to say about Champs. Good boat, ride well, I owned a 91 Model Champ but thats about it. I think Skeeter makes the most friendly to use boat(driveability) and still have good performance, they have the best deck layout in the industry. Skeeters are the shallowest floating other than the lightweights like a Bullet, allison, etc. There are good features on almost all Brands, no one makes a perfect boat. That is why we sell more than 1 brand.

Re: skeeter vs other brands (zxman200)

Previous boats were champion, triton and now skeeter for the 2nd time.
The new zx 225 is the most fishing friendly in my opinion...very wide at the bow..which is where you need it since you spend most of the day there. That was a big issue for me. She sits high in the water compared to Champion. Does not chine walk compared to triton. She does porpoise...so did my 94 skeeter..but you can get out of it easy (not like the 94). Extra padding up front makes it soft.
Have the ladder and don't give any thought to what anyone thinks about it...I'm glad it's there if I need it
