Speedo pickup 2005 VMAX 200 HPDI?

I posted this on the Yamaha board, since I don't see a speedo pickup on the boat (2007 SL210 F&S), but thought I would also post it here.

Went to Lake Kissimmee, FL last week. Burried the skeg in the mud a couple of times. Speedo quit working. Pulled a stick out of the hole in the front of the lower unit, at the point behind the prop shaft. I "assume" this is the speedo pickup. Speedo still didn't work. Any ideas?

THERE IS A HOLE IN THE VERY FRONT OF THE BULLET THATS THE POINTY END OF THE LOWER UNIT.THAT IS THE PITOT OPENING MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAR.

It can be cleaned out with a small drill bit turned by hand. I often get wood stuck in the hole on my motor.

Thanks for the assistance. I was able to find the hose that goes from the speedo to the pickup. There was a junction under the engine cowl. By working a drill bit in and out of the pickup hole, and applying air pressure from my air compressor, I was able to open up the line. Also put some light pressure on the speedo side of the line and could move the needle on the speedo, so I think I'm good to go. Now I have an excuse to get out on the water... if the weather will cooperate this weekend.

Dude, I gave up on the speedo. Mine never has worked right. Totally useless. I wish I could find a clock with the same style face that would fit there. I would take off the speedo in a heartbeat. I can't believe in all these years noone has invented a speedo that will work without gps.
