    Yamaha Transom Saver

    Guys,
I wanted to make you all aware that the guy who started ProRule ( prorule.com ), has got a new transom saver for Yamaha's and since so many of us on here are Yamaha owners, I thought I'd share this...

    $49.99
    * fit's over the trim pistons, kinda like the MyWedge does but this one covers both pistons and it's make out of powdercoated metal. I haven't had a chance to put in through the test on my boat or even take a picture with it on my boat, but I bought this today and will report back on what I think as I get to go fishing.

    Here's the pictures:

Looks like a well built piece of equipment but I still have my doubts about the actual support these types of transom savers provide. I will probably by making this post but it's just my two pennies.

Looks cool...what is the value of this type verses the traditional type?

I agree with bassjunkie, i can't see how that could take the weight of the engine off of the transom.

Has anyone heard if this creates any warranty issues with Yamaha or Skeeter?

You know I'm not trying to start any controversy, I'm just curious if they'll have issues or not. But I do know some Skeeter dealers will sell a recessed trolling motor pedal and Skeeter says that will void the deck warranty on the boat. For that reason I don't think selling this makes an implied warranty approval, but I'll probably buy one anyway and use it until I hear otherwise. I saw them at the show in Arlington and was very impressed with the workmanship.

We've just got too much money tied up in these toys to give the manufacturer a reason to not warrant them.

With that said, i know when i bought my SX190 boat, the dealer swore up and down that adding a jackplate to it would not void the warranty. If you have an honest dealer, hell let you know and not try to make a "sale".

    Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (MFD911)

Will this fit the HPDI motors? How high do you trim up the motor to get it in? Looks like a good product but does it have any rubber material between it and the motor? If not wouldn't damage the mount of the outboard over time?

The one Jeff has is made by ProRule. Who makes the one you have on your boat?

the original concept was from lock-n-haul. i broke it so i went to lowes and made another one myself. total cost about $15 bucks and you can make 2 out of the parts you get.

the unit from prorule works really well, started selling them a couple of weeks ago....much better than a transom saver.
