    skeeter livewell valves

I have a 97 skeeter zx 202c and noticed that the "fill, empty, recirculate" valve must not be closing properly because the water level drops considerably when using recirculate. is there a fix to this or do I have to buy new valves. Also, when I put the aerator on auto, nothing happens- is there a delay before the aerator turns on or not?

There could be some debri in the valve. In the auto position, a timer circuit is activated, which cylces the pumps on and off. When in the auto position, do you ever hear the pumps run?

Local dealer put in 2 NEW LW valves... yep, they still gain 3 gallons or so of water even when control is closed tightly... any ideas? (is control wire just a tad too long or what?)

Skeeter150 - It is possible that the timer circuit is not working. Do you have any electrical experience?

    Re: skeeter livewell valves (skeeter150)

I'd bet it's either debris stuck in the valve flappers or weak flappers in the valve. I read somewhere that Flo-Rite will replace the flappers at no charge(???) As for the recirc pump there may be a delay before it kicks in. I don't remember - hey I never catch fish anyway so how would I know !

Here's how to figure out what's going on. With your boat on the trailer, fill up the livewells with a hose. Wait and watch for water. It'll either show up draining out the back of the boat or it'll show up in the bilge area. That'll show you if you have a leaky valve or leaky tubing connection.

Turn on the recirc pump and wait to see what happens. It could be a couple of minutes before you hear anything.

Here is a link to Flo-Rite where you can look to see exactly how your particular system is put together:

    Hope that helps!
