You'll get a bunch of different answers, but for me, $6,900.00 seems high for a 16 + year old boat. I'd keep looking.

I doubt the blue book on a '96 Ranger/motor/trailer is only $4200. Is $6900 high? Well depending on a lot of factors it could be or it could be right on. For instance I bought my 1988 Ranger 363V last year with a Johnson GT150 and Ranger trailer for $4000. It was in good condition, but all original. Meaning original carpet, original seats etc. With no updates in eletronics or otherwise. Where I live this was a very good deal. Had the same boat been updated with newer electronics, carpet, seats, etc then I wouldn't have been able to touch it for less than $5000.

I just ran an NADA check on that boat and came up with this. You have to remember that NADA figures values of boat, motor, and trailer all separately because they are not always sold together and their are way to many possible configurations to average.
Boat (stripped down with no options) $4240
(with what I figured are standard equipment on Rangers) $5650
Motor $965
Trailer $605
So depending on standard options book value is between $5810 and $7220
That all being said, if the boat is in great shape cosmetically and mechanically? And if it has any kind of updates to electronics, trolling motor, or any number of other things? Then if you could buy it somewhere bewteen $5800 and $6500 you likely made a good purcahse. Anything under that and you stole it...!

thanx ,when I checked nada I could not separate it out so it came up 4.2k?
That sounds a "little" high for that boat. However ... like has already been said, it depends on the condition of the boat. Every boat is different. But for $6900, it would have to be in EXCELLENT condition. Otherwise, that's too high in my opinion.
thanx to all who replied
