    2004 519vx Opinions Needed!

I am looking at a very clean used 519vx with a 200 yamaha hpdi. Boat does not have a jackplate, so I was wondering how this setup works without one? Also, overall likes for those who have a boat similar would be appreciated. Place I am looking at has the boat listed for 19950. Good price? or should I be looking to have them come down some?

I have a '99 518vx, which is the same boat (except I have a Merc). I love the boat for fishing. However, the rough water ride is sub par. I have a j/p, but not sure if it's absolutely necessary. The Yammie is a good motor....my only concern would be that (I think) the 2004 model year block was only 2.5L....not a 3.1.
As for price, I guess $20k is reasonable if the boat is perfect. In reality, I would expect $16-$17k. You can find 520s around that model year for $20k.

If you would like i could give you my cell number to answer any questions.. I have a 2007 with the opti. Great boat, fishes great, a rocket with the 200 and is a proven hull. I love the boat and with the price of new boats these days I love it even more

Ive got a 05. Good boat and a rocketship set up correctly. Boat will run high 60's low 70's depending on load and set up. The boat also has plenty of lift and will get in the shallows with ease.. It also sits pretty level in the water so you dont have to worry abut getting blowed around everywhere to much. Its very fisherman friendly also and maneuvers around docks very well and also in tight places. I fish the Coosa River alot and it's to me the perfect size for river fishing. For prices look it up on NADA.

yes that is one of the biggest things with this boat. Like said, the wind could be howling and the boat doesnt get blown all over the place... and what i like best about it is the size. Its big enough to handle the bigger lakes yet can maneuver in the little hard to get to areas.

    I spent a couple seasons fishing in a 2001 with 200 HPDI.

It fishes very big for a 19' boat. Wide front deck with plenty of storage. It's a quick boat, not the fastest or the slowest.

Agree with what has already been said about the boat.

Mine has a 2.6l hdmi and i get a steady 65-67mph with a full load. I do not have a JP. I agree with most on here about fish ability and the rough water ride. I would say the price would be good if its in great shape.. Ask any questions you want sounds like i have the same setup.

I have a 2002 Ranger 518dvx w/200 Ficht with no jack plate. This boat is the same size as yours. This boat is a rocket ship, I hit 69mph on gps with both gas tanks filled, big front casting deck, lots of storage but it's not the best rough water ride.

Not sure about the boat without a jackplate but they work fine with a 6" on back(on mine). I have had the boat for over 2 years and don't have any complaints.19950 sounds like the price at a dealer .little lower if buying from an individual IMO.How many hours on that outboard?

I have a 04 519vx with a 200HO, 6" det. Hydro plate. Boat will run 69 GPS fully tourney loaded with two guys, and my best speed to date is 72GPS by myself. The boat fishes very large for a 19'. That price may be a touch high IMO.
Pimpin' ain't easy, but it's necessary.

Re: 2004 519vx Opinions Needed! (Loperbass)

I owned a 2005 519vx until I traded it on a Z519 this year. With the TM down, it is an excellent stable fishing platform, tracks perfectly, and doesn't catch wind - better than my new Z519. It is a legitimate 66-70 MPH boat depending on load. The layout is excellent.

The only downside to a 519vx is the rough water ride that can be described as aaverage at best for a 19' hull.

If the boat is clean with low hours motor that checks out, I do not think $19,950 is a bad price. I would negotiate it.
