will a 1972 electric shift 50hp powerhead fit a mid 90's 50hp midsection? I don't have either serial #. my guess is the exhaust adapter will stay with the powerhead and fit the other midsection- is that correctumundo? thanks in advance

how many different 50hp powerheads were there in 1972? I know there were a few different midsections. the 96 model is a jet drive 15" shaft.
