What is with non Ranger owners?

I can't tell you how many times lately a non Ranger owner has seen me wearing something that says Ranger and come up to me to tell me how much better their boat is than mine. I've never once went up to someone and belittled their boat, unless maybe when I knew them very well and wanted to give them a hard time. What is wrong with people?

Jealousy. People should be happy with what they have and learn to respect others' decisions.

+1 One thing u can count on and i hear it all the time, when you go to talking about bass boats the word Ranger allways comes up in the subject, every one compares their rig to a Ranger wether their rig is faster, rides better or easlier to load and unload. Seems like Ranger is the magic word among bass fisherman

Around here they get kind of a bad rep for being heavy and drafting to much water. We fish a ton of skinny water around here and skeeter tends to rule the roost for its ability to draft little water and get on plane quick. Thats about the only thing you hear bad about them around here. IMO, everyone says they are slow, but the skeeters and champions around here aren't that much quicker.

I dont recall ever hearing a Ranger owner trying to justify his purchase.

some thing has happened to me. they always ask why i would i would spend so much? why id buy an older boat? (cause i have an 84). was it worth it? thier boat is this or that. they can do this and that and there is no way they would own a ranger because of the price. i wouldnt change my for the world. with the ranger name comes quaility, reliability, fish in the boat, and in my opinion the best boat on the water

I have gotten used to it over the years. The way I look at it is I am gonna spend my dollars on what I want and it is gonna be Ranger.........................You know a funny thing is that it seems every time I fish a tx. and the event is over for some reason the guys seem to huddle around my boat to BS and have a drink............................wouldn't think that so many would want to be seen around a Ranger. ...............................RR

Just so you know, they are lighter then the equivalent skeeter and within a few pounds of a basscat! When your the KING everyone likes to try and drag you down or everyone always tries to compare they are as good or better. You watch every thread on this forum, at some point when brand X is compared it always gets compared to a Ranger! It's funny as hell to see the threads.

Currently there is one ongoing in the general forum regarding the price of Nitro's and some guy said how he bought a Nitro and his came with trailer brakes and divided livewell and the Z118 did not. I had to point out that in fact the Z118 comes standard with each of those features! Don't let facts get in the way of telling a good story!

That is 100% true. I've had Ranger, Triton, and most lately a Phoenix and each time I had people compare the non Ranger boat to a Ranger. It's actually really weird to think of how often I was asked those questions when I owned my Phoenix and my Triton.

It's all good men....let them tell their stories over and over.... Ranger is still the one to compare to....

I cant believe how many times ive read on here lately....."the ranger is a rough, wet ride". I dont know what they been smoking but Ive never got wet in my 520. Been wet in and beat to death in a lot of other brands though.

Should have asked them if it was raining that day when they got wet

Caterpillar or John Deere......Ford or Chevy....It is the same game. Ranger is the industry standard that everybody looks to because they pioneered the bass boat. No matter what others say, no one builds a boat as solid as a Ranger. It is worth every dollar.
