My 519DVX w/200 OptiMax has arrived to the dealer yesterday and will be ready for the pick-up this Friday! That's 2 more LONG days!

I know some of you may want to know what is in it just to have fun:

* Boarding ladder
* Lighted Livewell
* MinnKota 74 PD/AP-US (exchange from MinnKota 74 Maxxum)
* MinnKota CoPilot
* Quick Release Trolling Motor Bracket
* Garmin 250C on bow (exchange from Garmin 240)
* Garmin 250C on dash (exchange from Garmin 240)
* Remote Oil Fill/Oil Gauge
* SmartCraft 1000 Monitor
* Two VX Folding Seats and One VX Bike Seat
* Ranger Custom Cover
* Single Axle Trailer w/Disc Brakes
* 1/2" Padded Carpet on front deck
* Hamby's Keel Guard
* Tilt Steering Wheel
* Pro Trim Tilt/Trim Lever on steering column
* Mercury Sliding Hotfoot
* Backup Manual Keystart
* Bow Depthfinder Temp Sensor to transom
* Anchor Rein on bow

What I deleted:
* Jackplate - It was due to size of my garage. With it, my boat may not fit. It will be added later if I determined the boat will fit with the jackplate.

What I did not change:
* Spare tire stays on side - my dealer recommended not having the tire under the bow.

It took me 3 to 4 weeks to really make my decision on a boat. I had to cancel one order once with the local dealer after I learned that I'm not getting a good deal. My decision was made up and ordered on May 10th. As of the pickup on this Friday, it is almost 5 weeks from the day I ordered it. Plenty impressive.

Some of the options listed were recommended by some of the BBC members and I'd like to thank everyone for your help. I get to peek at the pics that my dealer sent to me and they looked REALLY good.

Wish I'd known about the padded carpet on the bow

You weren't interested in the recessed TM pedal?

Was the lighted livewell an option or part of the VX pkg? I haven't used mine yet so I don't know about mine.

Nice rig !!!!!

Rangerghm: I only need to try to make it through tonight because I'll be busy driving all the way from Austin, TX to Bull Shoals, AR tomorrow. Since I don't know how to post the pic on the forum, I probably will send it to you via e-mail.

BrownTrout, I didn't know about the padded carpet until R&H Marine suggested it. They said it's new for '05 models, or at least that's what I understood. You can call Ranger to see if they can install padding under your carpet for a cost - you know, it's not like trying to change the hull color.

The lighted livewell is not part of the VX package, it is an option in addition. But, it is very easy to add one in your boat - I can find some watertight white LED lamps designed for in water installations on e-bay and you can install it. Probably cost you total of $50 and a half day of work for everything.

Congratulations. Have fun and enjoy. Sounds like you did your research. Make sure you let us know what happens with your set up. The padded carpet has been around for a couple of years now, just like the recessed foot pedal.

I didn't answer one more of BT's question in regards with recessed trolling motor pedal. I didn't go with it because I ordered the MK Power Drive and its pedal is very slim. I also added CoPilot that I can detach the pedal and only use the remote on a quiet day - that would free some of the deck space to move around.

wanabepro: I plan to keep you hanging. Naw, I'll certainly keep you all posted.

Well... I picked up my 519 last weekend and brought it home safely (11 hours drive). The boat is better than what I envisioned to have - waiting for the order was well worth it!

I have not uploaded pictures from my camera, but will soon enough, for you all to see.

I took it out for a spin on Sat and Sun. The 200 Optimax kicks a** - maybe because that's just me and my toy... Short burst of WOT briefly got me to 65.7 GPS on a ski-laden water which is really good. I didn't catch the RPM at that speed because the water was so rough, I have to keep watch where I'm going. My buddy was the one holding the GPS.

Running at 4000 rpms get me a nice cruising speed of approx. 50 mph speedo.

My TM (Minn Kota 74 PD-AP/US) failed to operate - the steering mechanism didn't work - so it's gone into shop for warranty service. It worked for only one minute - so we have not fished out of my boat. I ordered the quick release bracket with that setup, man, am I glad? I am able to bring in the TM in for service and keep the boat in the garage.

The ride is pretty good - VX seat is comfy and worth having.

My buddy liked the idea of under the seat handle and the foot pad. It made him feeling more secure in the boat when we went over lot of ski boat wakes.

The Rangertrail trailer performed flawlessly all the way home and around ramps.

The Garmin 250C's are nice, except that it's pretty hard to see under bright noon sun on the bow - I have to crank up the contrast to see it better. At the morning or at the afternoon (to evening) they're pretty clear. Not enough time (due to failing TM) to really say much about these.

6 more hours of breakin' to go...

P.S. I met with BrownTrout and saw his boat - man, his boat is beautiful! I guess he spent lot of time taking care of her as he is waiting to take her out.

trig,
Everyone has moved over to the new site. You may have to copy your last post and re-do it on the new site. Here is the URL for the new site:

www.bbcboards.net/zeroforum?id=42

You'll likely have to start a new topic with "Picking up my new 519". But first, you have to re-register, which is not all that difficult. Posting your boat picture and creating a signature on the other hand, is a little harder.
