    98' Astro/Procraft "factory" TM wiring??

Hey, does anyone know what size/gauge wire Astro/Procraft used for their Trolling Motor wiring in 98'?? Mine came with the 12/24v setup (4 wires) but Im not sure what gauge it is.. I can't read the writing on the wires.. Thanks for any help!

I have a '96 procraft, that came with a 12/24 motorguide and its got 8ga. I feel sure thats what came from the factory unless someone did a real good install job, cause I got the boat used.

Thanks fellas! Looks like I have 8ga as well!!

Those 40a fuses they used just arent enough for the newer trolling motors.. Im going to use the 4 wire/8ga and double them up, to simulate a 2 wire.. Then remove those 40a fuses and replace with a 50a breaker..

    Re: (Mickstix)

Got the TM wired up as a 2 wire, finally.. (Used both positives together, and both negatives together) But talk about a pain in the butt.. They (Astro) used 8 gauge wire for the entire run, bow to bilge, but the fuse holders (which come with those little "pig tails" to splice in) only have 10-12 gauge wire.. So that pretty much defeats the purpose of using 8 gauge, when each run has about 6" of 10-12 gauge spliced in where the fuses go.. So I had to remove the entire fuse holder, pig tails and all.. That left me with about 3" of wire, coming out from behind the "glassed in" dry storage area, on the rear port side, to work with.. After some cussing and head stands I got it spliced back together with all 8 gauge.. Then put the 50a breaker on at the battery.. Went out and intentionally burned through some thick weeds to see how she did.. Never popped the breaker and the boat didnt catch fire either! So I think Im good to go!!
