    Livewell cracks

I fished a tournament this weekend and used catch and release in my livewell. When I got home and started cleaning the boat up I noticed the bottom of my livewell was full of green lines. I used my finger nail to feel them and they are either scratches or cracks not sure which but it kinda looks like a spiders web so I'm guessing cracks. Has anyone had a problem with there livewell cracking really bad

I would think surface scratches as the gel coat and glass are pretty thick and the live wells are molded in boxes separate from deck during build if I'm correct, never seen this before, but anything is possible.

I have cracks on my livewell, 07 521. I'm sure they are just cosmetic stress cracks.

Does the repair involve a complete replacement or just a patch of the existing livewell?

Why is Ranger only wiling to pay half? Unless something has changed you have a warranty with them indefinitely if you are the original owner or ten years from manufacturers date if you are not the original owner. In either case it would or should still be covered. Very curious as to why they took this stance when dealing with a customer.

Rangerdawg that is where my worst crack is. It starts under the divider and runs to the screw on screen (probably not a good spot) The port side is by far the worst, the whole bottom is covered. What are peoples opinions on how bad it can get? will it start leaking into the bilge? or could the bottom of the live well just open up and be unusable? Our tournament season really gets going up here the next couple months. I don't want to be with out a boat.

Tidewater that's what I thought the warranty was too. HMMMM?

My Z20 had them bad from 07 to the time 2014 and the livewells never did leak. I would fill them with a hose and check so never worried. I had stress cracks in every corner of the boat.

My 2006 Z20 has had them from the beginning. The dealer tried to fix them twice but they kept coming back. They are still there but have never leaked so I have to assume they are surface cracks only.

In my opinion, you'd think they would try to fix this problem instead of making the livewells out of the same material! Aluminum lined livewells might fix it!?

Ive seen it a lot- its from no support underneath and the weight of the water sloshing around in rough conditions does it. Ive seen some that leaked and were sprayed with like dove gray line-x and it solved that issue. Ranger will only pay half cause i imagine they consider it cosmetic and usually wouldnt fix that period but its a known issue so they pay half

Offer to pay for half of the repair is being generous considering boat manufacturers warranty (including Ranger) specifically excludes gel coat cracking, crazing, blistering. If it were leaking that would be structural and covered. I have a few that spider out from the holes for the screens and it doesn't leak.
