    A fun couple of days....

I spent Friday and Saturday over on Guntersville at a men's retreat with Church. One of the boaters backed out and since I had the biggest boat there, I got the extra non-boater. So, I spent Friday and Saturday with myself at 195, and two great guys that go over 250 each in the boat. Neither had been in a bassboat before. It was cold in the mornings and when I asked if they wanted a mask or gloves the first morning they both said "No, we're fine." I took it easy Friday morning as the wind was up and it was in the upper 30's. After I went about 3 miles at 40 mph or so, both of them were practically frozen. After that, one wore my FishHedz and one wore a hunting mask I had.

Later in the day after it warmed up I opened the boat up more and showed them what these things are capable of. With all three of us and our gear in the boat I ran 74 with a little over 1/2 tank of gas. Both were amazed that a boat that size can go that fast and still be that stable. And speaking of stable, all three of us fished for two full days and couldn't have been more comfortable.

So, on Saturday when we were headed back to the ramp at Waterfront I ran her up to 74 again and pulled into the dock. I asked if they minded if I let them out and ran back out for a quick run down and back on the lake. So I literally pulled up to the dock, set them out, and headed back. When I came out of the opening I was hammered down. The boat lifted so much better (imagine that...lol) and ran up to 78. 4 mph difference.

My water pressure is almost pegged on the gauge, so I'm going to raise her up a little more and see what she does. The ole girl ran 80 this spring. I need to get her back there. This is with a bone stock 27 Tempest. If I wasn't so broke, I'd either get this prop worked, or buy another.

It was a good time on the water with a couple of great men. One is our youth minister and the other is a great guy from Church. Neither had ever fished out of a boat, and we all caught at least one fish. Enjoyed it tremendously and hopefully will get the opportunity to do it again soon.
