Tried the TXP tonight for the first time. I only have a handheld GPS so no speeds yet (I need two hands to drive!). TREMEMDOUS hole shot, I mean FAAAAAAAAAAST! Great handling, seems quick but no way to tell without GPS yet. 2 1/2" below pad. 24 PSI water pressure. 5600 - 5700 RPM's. By myself with 3/4 tanks of fuel and 1.69 tons of tackle. Now here's the question. At 3/4 trim my rooster tail is just lower than the top of the engine cowl. At full trim (or damned close to it) there's no rooster tail at all. I was always told that as a rule of thumb the rooster tail should be about even with the top of the cowl. Why would it disappear at full trim? I figured at full trim it would be higher than 3/4 trim. Gotta get a GPS on it to dial it in but until then this has me wondering. Probably gonna raise it another 1/4" since I still have tons of water pressure and RPM's available. But was hoping someone would be able to tell me what's going on before I do that. Also, not a rooster tail freak or anything, I understand that too high a rooster tail means you're wasting HP but I've alway gone by that "High as your Cowl" theory.
