    HELP, Gambler Outlaw trailer axle

A buddy of mine blew a tire on the highway and it bent his axle and ruined his brake system. The shop (actually the tow company that got him off the road) is saying that the axle is custom made and would be over $2000 just for parts, no labor.

I'm finding that hard to believe. I've changed and built quite a few axles so I know that price is out of line unless its something real unusual.

The boat is a 2002 Gambler Outlaw and I believe it measures 20'4" if I remember correctly.

Anyone know if this is a standard size axle or where I could locate one? Or if someone happens to have the measurements for one so I can locate a match. The boat is 2 hours from my buddy and a little over an hour from me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance !!! Have a great day!!!!!
If it doesnt have wheels, swim, or run naked in the woods, I don\'t know anything about it.

Bearings chewed my rear axle 2 years ago. Ameritrail sent me a replacement (3 day freight)and it was under $400.

Re: HELP, Gambler Outlaw trailer axle (Mac)

The Outlaw is 19' 4" rated for a 200 hp.

Ameri-trail sent me a complete axle with bearings and hubs for $289.00 in 2004.
