Prop to Pad is 3.5 inches

The prop to pad is 3.5 now and it is very hard to steer. The more I trim up the harder it is to steer. The torque is something awful. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I know that I need hydraulic steering but, the boat handled better with the motor lower. Before I raised the motor the boat was easier to handle when I had it trimmed up.

Where are you taking your measurements from?

Can you post some pics of your motor and jack plate?

Dartman, where is yours if that is to high? Mine is around 2 1/2 and she is perfect so far.
