Through hole transducer on 2000 2100

I'm over breaking off transducers on the out side of my boat and want to put a through hull transducer in. I've heard that I have to drill a hole in the inner hole and removed the foam to get it to the outer hull. I really don't want to drill a hole in the bottom of my boat . Before I pull out the battery tray out from the back I want a real good idea of what I got going on. I thought about pulling the transducer for the flasher and installing one there, but loose the bottom at too low a speed at the flasher, maybe the Lowrance would read better, unless it too far forward. You guys thought would be great, and pics would be even better. Thanks

    DONT DRILL ANY holes......
you've got 4 holes already pre drilled in your boat....i think i saw where you've got a 2100...if so, remove your CENTER console/step and look straight down...you'll see the 2 bilge pumps, and right in front of them there are 4 holes pre drilled...at least one of them you should see is already in use with a flasher for your lowrance 1240 which came on the boat...my boat already had 2 in there, because the guy before me did what you're wanting to do and installed a transducer for his HB dash unit...

I second what Low Slung is saying. I put my new transducer in one of the pre-drilled holes under the center step (had to elongate it a little with an exacto knife and then sand the adhesive that was used to glue the foam to the outer hull to get a flat surface to epoxy the new transducer). I do lose depth reading when I get over about 60 though; but I figure if I'm worried about depth I shouldn't be going that fast anyway...

you guys must have newer boats than me, my buddy chuck said the same thing and lifted his seat and showed me. I pulled my center seat and there is nothing, only thing I can see is the cables running up to the trolling motor, I think they changes something in 2001

the holes are behind the pumps...and most were predrilled...with at least 2 holes..most with 4...there should be at least one already mounted there...if not...you aint got any luck.....and break out the hole saw....

    Uhhh no

I'm guess I'm gonna go ahead and pull the tray and see what I can see, knowing that there is most likely some pre-drilled holes, I feel better about it. Just hope they are there

Hmm, anyone know if there are any pre drilled holes in a '97 Outlaw? I mount the 'ducer for my HDS 5 in the rear next to the old flasher's 'ducer. Needless to say, it doesn't work very well when on plane. Thoughts?
