So tell me about this White Sterling, the one with no carpet

She is a beauty for sure.

I am located in N. California and there is no hope for a demo ride out here, heck there seems to be no hope for California all toghter as far as that goes

I have been a bass fiherman for close to 20 years, I am not afraid to try something new, the opposite in fact. I prefer to try something new and not run with the crowd,

I would be very intereted to hear the pro's and con's of this boat, I.M. me if you prefer.

The first thing that catches my eye is it appears (appears mine you) one sits low in the cockpit and have to strain to look over the windsceen, true??

I would like to know how it fishes, I assume it will run but let's here about that too. I have never run a 4 stroke, but once again the Yamaha SHO seems intereting and at least for now, a little special in that you don't see them every day. How does the boat run withthe SHO. How long is that raskall, 21 or 22 feet.

Who makes the trailer, how many axles have brakes.
How about the live wells, how many gallons, does it have pump out, etc.
About that "no carpet" deck, how hard is it to keep it looking new?
    Any other comments

I thought I wanted a non skid deck till I was at the lake a couple of weeks ago and there was a storm bass and bay there. The frost was really heavy that morning and the non skid deck looked like an ice rink. He had to wait a couple hours till it thawed before he was able to get on the lake
If you don't fish cold weather non skid would be great

I'M 5'8" and have no problem seeing over the console....don't have the sterling but do have 2200 gambler, fishes very well, good and stable, sits low in the water and does'nt blow bad in the wind, takes very little trolling motor to move the boat and is very very responsive...drives like a corvett on rails, great throttle and trim response...hope this helps...

In the first part of the coming week, I will be posting pictures of a new customer purchased dual console non-skid white/red/silver Sterling. Very hot and heading to Maryland!!

I've always been a Bass / Carpet guy, but with the exposure to the saltwater lines I love the non-skid. Easy to clean with a preasure washer and you'll never have to replace the carpet. It weighs about the same due to fiberglass lids vs aluminum and carpet. It has a very clean surface and and maintinence free, and no rattle due to bulb seals under every lid.

As for how it sits/visibility, no problem at all. Yes you do sit down in the boat compared to riding on top of it, however it sits 4" higher in the water due to the new hull configuration and flat at idle. At top end the hull runs faster trimmed down. The view is wide open, I took our new dealer from Japan out last week on Harris and we flipped up the leg lumbars on the seats and spotted beds while idleing. We also did a U-turn at 50mph without loosing the pad.

The Sterling is a 21'9" hull (22) and is very stable at just under 2000 lbs. With the SHO it is running 82 - 85mph depending on Configuration (SC, DC, CC) and load. It carries 52 gallons of fuel and 2 independent 23 gallon livewells with individual pump outs, fills, circulators, high spead pick-ups to areate / preasurize at high speeds, and all easily accessibly under the center console instead of standing on your head in the transom and 7 hrs to repalce an areator.

The trailer is a custom trailer by Ameritrail with choices of a Steel Channel and Box, or a Channel Aluminum with powder coat.

If you would like to see one, I have a owner Outside of Stockton with one and a 300 Merc Stroker that I can put you in touch with.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Mike, where do you stash the rods while running? I know you can put them in the rod boxes, but is there any way that 6 to 8 rod holders have been / can be designed in? Btw, What prop are you running on the SHO? I am guessing a 28 Bravo1 XS? Thanks.
