System Check Tach

OK, Here is a dumb question for you all. My Faria System Check Tach stopped working a couple weeks ago and I am about to send it in for repair. Will my motor run with out it? I assume that it will I just won't have the info from the System Check? Are there any risks involved with running without it, other then not knowing how many rpms I am turning? The motor is a '99 Johnson 150 Carb.

I don't think I would run the motor without a System Check guage installed, if you have a problem you have no way of being warned and you could cause Major damage.
