Try this: Looking at the mounting bracket from the port side sideways look for a hole that has a slot headed screw inside it This can get trickey cause I was looking from the back of the boat, look at the side of the bracket from the side of the boat LOL You need a 5/16 th screwdriver turn ccw counter clockwise 3-4 turns Holding the motor to keep it from falling. Having someone to help is good here! Raise the motor and tighten the manuel release valve then look on the starboard side from the back of the boat for the slotted screw in the trim resevoir. Fill with trim fluid, ease the l/u down on 2X4 for support and run the trim unit up and down with the manuel release valve out 3-4 turns to bleed then tighten it up and try to trim motor up! Hope this helps!!

    Welcome to the BBC.

There is a manual release valve on the right side, look for a hole in the stern bracket, inside that hole you will find a slotted screw, turn it counterclockwise a couple of turns, you should be able to lift the motor.

Sounds like it may be low or out of fluid, if not, there are a few valves that could cause this problem.
