got 1.62,,,,,, if you plan on changing your gears ,,,,, your probly gonna have to find new props,,,,
I think 1.62 are good for long runs,, higher speeds at lower rpms JMO
I can dig it. I am just trying to do some more research. I have some good buddies who are well educated on this gear material and overall motor works, and I am learning from them (Glen B. and Blue Steel) and everyone else... I was just curious on the matter.
So you are telling me on a 1.62 gears.... a 28p prop would work more like a 30p prop?

Yup,,, but the joy of it is a 26p will run you into the low 80's
need lots of venting for the 1.62 gears with anything taller than a 27 or 28
I believe you would have a hard time coming out of the hole and finding a prop that fit both holeshot and top end, I could be wrong though. Gamblurrman has a big horsepower to boat ratio so I would think he might not notice as much. How is you holeshot anyway?

Hole shot is money with the tabs of course... but i would hate having to give up the hydromotive i just got for this thing. I absolutley love it. Gamblurr Man you have the 250 on back of the Intimadator right?
Has anyone ever done triple pvs? lol![]()
I have had them both! Stick with the 1.75's JMO!
My hole shot is better, mid range kick is stronger. The 1.62 were kinda like you hit the gas and wait. Bad thing is you got to run bigger wheels and so it's harder to find props and sell props and some props just aren't made big enough like the fury.. With the 1.62's you can try the ones off your buddys cookie cutter.

Its a Outlaw w/ 250xs,, You probly are better off to keep the same gears,, your boats a little bigger than mine and i'm a little over rated on HP so the 1.62 gears really hurt me to much on hole shot.

That seams right, Trashy said he runs a 30" and I run a 28" Hydromotive with 1.62 and post similar numbers, granted I don't run a gambler either but the difference in props are right on.
I run 1.62 gears with a torque master lower unit and I am very pleased with my hole shot, low end, top end and mid range. I use both 26 pitch trophy and 26 pitch Fury props with this 1.62 gear ratio on a 2200 Gambler with 250 XS with no problems. My top end on a fully loaded 2200 Gambler on a hot day is 80 mph GPS. As for prop selection is concerned with a 1.62 gears. It is very easy on heavy boats like a 2200 Gambler to prop the boat for best performance across the board using 1.62 gears on a torque master lower unit. I have had my 2200 Gambler for 6 years now with this setup. The only difference you will see is the 4 blade 26 pitch trophy handles very well in high speed turns as if the boat is on rails with a straight line top end of 79 mpg GPS. Where a 3 blade Fury is much looser in the turns but has straight line top end of 80.5 mpg GPS. But this is what you expect from 3 bladed vs. 4 bladed prop.
Sounds about right,,,, i can run up to 80 pretty quick with the 26p and hit the limiter at just a tad over 83.... Ran with both my brothers in Okeechobee fully loaded Three peoples gear, full tank of gas,etc........ Me 250lbs, oldest brother 215lbs and my middle brother 290lbs,,,,, hole shot was sluggish but once up on plane 79 and it hit a wall,, nothing more out of it......
funny passing people in the rim canal with three fat guys in the boat...
that's a lot of ass to be running around at 80

okay guess i need a lil help cause im only runin 80mph in 2008 model 2200 series with a 250 xs 2007 modle, torquemaster lower unit with 1.75 gears 80.4 is the fastest ive ever run on a 60 degree day. i know it can go faster i only weigh 170 lbs and dont have that much fishing stuff. how fast can it go?
start with the prop... what pitch prop do you have?
a 27 pitch tempest
thinkk a 27 fury would be faster?
27 FURY is a beast to TURN...how many rpms are you currently turning your 27 Tempest?
