On Tuesday of this week I was in Florida so I drove by the plant to say hello to everyone. Bob gave me the tour of the new Sterling in finished form. I had seen the prototype but this was my first opportunity to see the finished boat. All I can say is WOW! This is a giant leap in the state of the art. The storage is awesome and the trolling motor batteries under the front deck is a long overdue feature. NO more voltage drop from too long of cables. The way the gas tank is tucked is really nice as well as the new position for the trim tabs. The seats are very comfy, a bit higher off the floor, but still the same height at the gunnel. The leg room is much improved, and overall, this is the finest boat I have seen to date. An interesting side note here, I also ran into an old friend there, who is the rep for Attwood. He told me EVERY boat company in the country, except Gambler, was down about 80%, while Gambler is actually having a banner year and are working every day. That says volumes about loyality of brand. Good job guys! I miss having a Gambler in my garage more than I can tell. Soon though....very soon.
