    Gambler trailer

Anyone know how to override the trailer brakes when backing up an Ameritrail trailer. I thought I was having an issue with the brakes not disengaging while backing my boat into my inclined driveway yesterday, so I'd just like to know for the future. I do have the 5 pin connector hooked up, but it may not have been getting a good connection. I see a round area on the trailer where a friend of mine with a similar trailer has a disengaging mechanism, but it looks like that mechanism is missing on this trailer.

    Thanks,

    Josh

First I would check to see if you have voltage on the blue wire with your truck in reverse. If you do have voltage on the blue wire the solenoid valve in the trailer is bad.
There's a key type fob that fits in the trailer slot that stops the actuator from compressing. You can tape a nickel in that slot to stop the brakes from working while backing up, JUST FOR AN EMERGENCY.
