    Finally finished my Gambler

Been on this site since I purchased this nightmare of a boat.
It started a year and a half ago when I saw it and the price was right but it had hidden problems like a rat had been living in it for a month and nobody new it.
The owner and I went for a test ride ran good but one or two gauges where not working he says that's odd they where working so we come to a price and I drive away with a big happy face little did I know it would be the last one I would have for a long time.

So I get the boat home and need to check out the gauges that are not working the other guy had purchased new panels for the boat so figured I would install them while I was at it that is when I found out there was a rat that had been there oh shit they love wiring in there diet. Three days later every thing works and new panels installed yea.

Every body is happy boat works good third trip to the lake with my buddy that is going to buy my ranger from me and the boat starts losing power oh shit back home we go.
The mechanic comes over there is a hole in the piston. Shit that sucks just fix it I want a happy face again.
I get the boat back and go to the lake to break the motor in seems fine but something still not quite wright so mechanic meets there on second trip and installs a new VRO and electronics oh that feels better.
Third trip out motor starts losing power again shit this sucks call mechanic he comes to the lake and does a compression test that failed back to shop for tear down and every cylinder and piston is bad. Check the new VRO and it is not working properly dam OMC junk.
So pissed off I park the boat but machanic has the power head and I keep my ranger with mercury on it I love this boat but so does buddy that was going to buy it from me.

OK time goes buy 6 months later wife is bitching that I have 2 boats and 2 jeeps and yard is not landscaped yet something better happen soon. So I call the machanic tell him to fix the power head next call my body sell him the boat that he is leaving at my house because he is moving and has nowhere to park it oh that nice of you.
OK 6 months more go buy spring is here and landscaping is in and machanic calls power head is ready yea. Power is on mixed first tank of fuel and oil buy hand don,t trust VRO still go to lake boat runs better than ever but the trolling motor only works on 12 volt what the hell. Back at the house to check things out that dam rat had got to the trolling motor wires and it took some time for them to corrode so 2 days later finally pulled new wires front to back trolling motor works big motor runs great wife is happy buddy has old boat and I am finally fishing out of the GAMBLER.
If you need help working on your boat don,t call me I will be on a lake some where. Here are the photos:

    Re: (gamblerjewell)

I have not aired it out yet still running double oil mix but at 5200 RPM it runs 72-73. Came with 2 1/2 props the best prop the guy had was missing a blade. He said it would run 83 with that prop.
I have tried the other two props with one of them it runs OK the other one blows out trying to come out of the hole so you can only use about 3/4 throttle.
The motor is suppose to be a 200 but it is a special edition and the factory does not list the model# but I got a hold of one of the old factory techs and he said every thing on it is 225 because of horse power limits on the fishing circuit back then that is why it is hard to find the model#. I know checking out the # on the carbs come up 225.
I would like to get the prop that is broke duplicated because the previous owner spent allot of time sending it back to get worked on numerous times.

nice looking gambler I've been working on mine for two years now and I'm thinking this could be a life time project but every time I take her out you can't hardly get the smile off my face.
