Can I swap out my factory hydraulic bob's plate for a new Atlas plate?

Are the holes the same? Are there any weight distribution issues? I like the Atlas design better than the Bob's. I have a 1998 Intimidator DE DC with a 225 ProXS. Might clean up my back compartment as the Atlas unit is self contained. Has anyone done this or checked on it? Lots of pros switching to the new atlas unit.

I just got with Dwayne. Yes you can swap them out. On the Atlas you will have to redrill the 4 lower holes as we do here. Just sit the Bob's plate on top of the Atlas and drop in two bolts to get the top two holes to line up, then you have the pattern for the lower 4.

Do let me point out we have not stopped using Bob's Jackplate.

We read this thread. We followed up with company management and Gambler has not stopped using our jack plate on the Shearwater.

As a matter of fact we have a new ad that will be appearing shortly that features the Shearwater with a BMS jack plate. The photo was provided by the company.

All jack plate manufacturers make a good product. We happen to believe that we make the best one on the market. We are the only company that offers a lifetime warranty against structural defects and effective July 1, 2009 we went to a 3 year warranty on our hydraulic pump.

None of the pros that we sponsor have left us for another product. As a matter of fact in 2009 we added pros and will most likely be adding additional pros in 2010.

Anyone that has any questions on our product should give us a call.

I swapped out a Gambler plate for an Atlas last spring. Why hasn't Gambler switched to the same bolt pattern as all the other boat manufacturer? I had to stop installation on Saturday and re-install the Gambler plate...talk to the guys a TH Marine to make sure it didn't void the warranty then start all over again. Would have been a simple swap if the pattern was the same.

BTW... It wasn't hard making the swap. It just took a long time due to having to measure everything a few times. Also, on my 95 209...I had to drill all 4 holes. top 2 then matched up the plates for the bottom 2.

I am sure that Bob's makes a fine product. I own one with no problems to date. It is just my opinion that the new Atlas design has a couple of things i like......self contained, eliminating all the pump and lines inside the boat and I think the large double round post design eliminates any play in the plate. JMHO. Bob's is a very successful company and I don't think anyone here doubt's their quality and service. Just like some guys like Gamblers and some guys like rangers.....No big deal to me. I am just glad that us fisherman have several choices for many boating products.....Choice is good !!!! Thanks to all.

Atlas is slow going up and down compaired to Bob's!! looks are not everything.

P.S The newer G-boats are the same bolt pattern as every thing else!

put a cmc on my 01 outlaw,,,,,,,had to redrill bottom holes on new jack plate, not the standard pattern, no big deal just reference off of old jack plate when removed and transfer to new jack plate. get a good drill.
