Anyone have info about adding tabs to one of the earlier gboats that was not factory equiped with trim tabs? Brands, size and results.

What year hull and model do you have? I spent the money and time on a set of lencos for a 183GT and it was a complete waste of time and money. Nothing wrong with the tabs, they just didnt help. I acheived better results with setup and prop work as well as adding an Allison style foil and ended up with quite a few holes that I had to fill in. I spent a ton of time with the 183 hull and in my eyes had it dialed in perfect from holeshot to topend. I know have an Intimidator1 19'3 and am working on its setup and by no means need trim tabs. The setup is completely differant than the 183s so I had to start over and with the help from these guys, im getting close.

I have seen the newer hulls with the cutouts for tabs. They might have been an option on those models. I would say on those hulls the tabs would be worth the investment and would stick with the Lencos that Gambler uses. If not, proper setup-prop work and a foil will be all you need. Theres a user on here that makes an Allison style foil, I think its Brian and its a nice piece. Have fun.

The hull changed in 2000, with trim tabs being an option. I have one of the 2000 year models that don't have the option and there is really no good way to install any. Hulls before 2000 you will have a problem putting tabs in.

Thanx for the comeback. Guess I'll work with setting things up the old fashioned way.
