    Finally on Pad

Well I just wanted to share that finally after nearly 5 months I officially got up on the pads of my boat. I bought Dells 1990 gs183 with a 1992 Mariner 175 back in June. Up until last Tuesday the fastest I had clocked on my GPS was 56 mph gs. This is my first boat and quite frankly I am more interested in fishing than speed.

However Tuesday I was on East Lake Toho had not caught a thing and was heading home when I noted it was dead calm and no boats. I had the pedal down proximately 1/2 to 3/4 and I started trimming up until I felt like I was riding on the very last couple of feet on the boat I had never experienced this before.. No waves to scare me or start premature porpoising. Next thing I know Im at 59 then 63. I felt safe driving and gave it more gas and kept my eyes on the water pressure and water ahead. When I got to the ramp my gps had maximum speed of 69.3 I cant swear to that because I had not reset the thing before I went out but I did see 63. Anyway that was pretty fast and I'll probably never try it again
I've seen the video of Dell going airborne.

That speed sounds about right. You can raise the Jack plate up one more notch and still have water pressure, but don't do much turning, or your loose some of your pressure. (if you haven't moved it since I sold it to you) That video of me catching air was in Lake Conway two Thanksgivings ago.....Damn wake boarders. Glad to see your enjoying it. Hows the fishing in East Lake?

Re: Finally on Pad (FL Dell)

Hi Dell, The fishing has been tough on East lake. I've caught small ones off flukes and trick worms. I reckon they've been holed up deep all summer and I am hoping they start getting active in the shallows soon.

I'm determined to find those bass I know they're in there!

It used to be in the BBC post archives, but I could not locate it. Send a message to Dell he probably has the link or video he can repost.
    Thanks
