Question....
I have a Gambler 206SS (one of the few non bass boat style) that I recently re-rigged with a Bridgeport. With the Bridgeport I have to run a fuel pump and trim pump in the boat where as my old 200 didn't require this set-up. For those of you that also run a fuel pump and trim pump, where are you guys locating them in conjunction to the battery? Right now, my mechanic has the fuel pump and trim pump mounted to an aluminum plate and they sit right next to the battery. I'm not so sure that having the fuel pump and fuel seperator right next to the battery is the safest thing; especially as the back of the boat doesn't have adequate venting. On the 206SS, this is the only compartment that you can put these items in. My other alternative is to cut up the built in cooler on the other side of the boat and put the fuel and trim pump in there....which I would rather not do. So, for those of you running Merc 260s, 280s, etc. please let me know what you guys have done. I appreciate the feedback and any pictures of your rigging would be great. Can't wait to get this screamer back on the water!
Thanks for your help
