I am sure this has been discussed before but......for those of you that have owned or spent time in both...whats the advantages to the 2200 over the 2100? Is there really only 50lbs difference?

there may only be 50 pounds difference...but there is a world of difference in the size...the 2200 is a fine rig, but its big..and really needs 300hp to get the performance out of the boat...the 2100 is the best rig out there to me...but the 22 also has some neat features...if you dont plan on fishing any tourneys with hp limitations...then look at the 22 with a 300...but with a legal 250...the 2100 is way faster...and fishes just as good...

Kinda what I thought......that 2200 on the 4sale board is very nice and had me thinking
Pilot,
I am with LD on this one for sure. The 2200 has a few neat features like the bass chutes however the quick rod system I don't like at all. The rod boxes are a pain in the a$$ on the 2200. Ride is awesome. I had the 300 on it and it was ok. Driving a 2200 is like riding a horse at the petting zoo vs driving a 2100 being like riding Barbaros around the race track. JMO. Loading and unloading at a ramp takes a little more with the longer boat if you have a long truck pulling it. For what I use the boat for I will not own another 2200. Some guys on the north lakes need the stable ride of the bigger boat but that is the only reason I can see to own one. But either way you can't make a mistake with a Gambler.![]()
pretty much the same for me......like the fish chutes but I don't catch enough to make it a big deal not having them.I also prefer the rod deck lay out on the 2100. I didn't notice much difference in the size as far as manueverability or rough water ride, but the 2100 is fine for me and of course faster with the same power...which is the most important thing to me.

The 2200's a great boat but just too large for me. The 2100's front deck is large and fishes two easily. I find the 2100 more like a Corvette and the 2200 more like a Cadillac.![]()
the 2200 has a chute to put your fish in the livewell, so you dont have to open the lid to the well and risk a fish jumping out...

I have rode in both. The only difference in size is about 6 inches if you measure them out. It appears that the console is where the majority of the 6inches comes in to play. I seem to have more leg room in my 2200 than I did in the 2100. I hate to say it fellas but I was expecting the 2100 to ride about like the 2200 especially since your only looking at a 6in difference. But it doesn't seemed to be the case especially in rougher water. But who knows 6inches may really be a big difference on a boat. I know that 6 more in would be a big difference for me. LOL!!!![]()

The 2200 is actually 11" longer than the 2100 (according to Gambler); that would make a fairly big difference in ride in rough water.
Al I don't think you will see it with a tape measure. The fella I rode with in the 2100 has had several of both and even an intimidator. He told me all the measurements that he has made on each one and he gets a new one every year. He told me that he couldn't figure out how gambler got their measurements. I cannot say for sure though I haven't measured for myself. Your right according to gambler 2100 = 20'7 and the 2200 = 21'6. The deck on 2100 = 8'6 and the 2200 = 9'1. According to their info. the deck is 7in longer so that leaves 4 inches somewhere consoles maybe???

The 2200 is a little wider, the front deck is longer and the back deck is longer. My 2200 measures 21'-6"
The 2100 hull is about 1 mph faster than the 2200.
The 2200 has a better ride in rough water and shines in "open water"
The 2100 will likely out manuever the 2200 in turns because the 2200 is more difficult to keep the bow up because of the additional length/weight at the bow.
I love everything about my 2200 except when I'm bed fishing and have to pole...........that gets a little tough
