    2200 Bildge Pump Connections

Has anyone had problems with the bildge pump connections including the automatic float switch plug. Mine have corroded so bad that they separated. This boat is only 9 months old. Does anyone know if the automatic bildge pump is suppose to activate without the power switch in the "on" position?

Re: 2200 Bildge Pump Connections (MCarte)

I haven't had any bilge pump problems with my 04. The auto. bilge pump is supposed to work without the main power switch turned on.

Appreciate your message. I'll post the results after I repair all the bildge pump connections. I wish the bildg pumps were larger capacity; it might be a good time to upgrade to a larger pump.

Re: 2200 Bildge Pump Connections (MCarte)

Had a couple of problems. The bildge is "the Place" for all the trash to gather. parts, wire wrap pieces etc...This junk will be around for a while...
When the junk gets caught up in the float, you're OOL.
Take a moment and clean the area periodically.
Last...yes the pump SHOULD work automatically...except when junk is caught up in it. Hope this helps.

Re: 2200 Bildge Pump Connections (Ropeyarn)

Thanks for your reply. As it turns out the automatic switch did not function at all. And, the wiring was incorrect on one pump and the switch. Replaced the switch with a Rule floater / Mercury filled switch. Now the pumps run at capacity and the Auto works correctly. The bildge area was full of junk like you said. You can't realize how important those bildges are until you are taking in water for whatever reason...been there.
