    Sandy

an alternative to lenco http://www.lectrotab.com/ With a little work and a little device to stop voltage spike the gauge on the lower left would work on a lenco system.

Jeff from what I've been told by Lenco for a gauge to work, you have to add a controller to the system and the only way to do that is to run the tabs separately. Bob decided it was too dangerous to run them separate, thus no gauge. I've been wondering if a Mercury trim gauge and sender would work, like the one on our motors, if you could figure out how wire and mount it.

Terry, its not the gauge, you need to connect the gauge to a trim tab controller that connects to the tabs, remember they are electric. I'm pretty sure Lenco won't interface with Livorsi, but nice looking gauge. A few years back I talked to a Lenco tech, he said the only way to connect a gauge to the tabs (using Lenco parts) was to run the tabs independently. See the link below.

that gauge i posted sandy doesn't require any other internal stuff. It's just an 8 second gauge basically.make sure your tabs are up and push the the button for 10 seconds to sycn them

    Re: Sandy (cowtrimmer)

    From their PDF manual...................

Remember, the Lectrotab indicator does not receive a signal directly from the tab
actuators so before considering the indicator to initially represent the position of the tabs,
both tabs must be fully UP. It is highly recommended that trim tabs always be fully
retracted before turning the engine(s) off. If this is done, the retracted tabs and the
“retracted” indicator will always be synchronized when the boat is started for subsequent
use. However, if you are not sure the tabs are fully up when you turn on the indicator,
press both tab switches for “tabs up” for 10 seconds to be sure. This initial “indicatortab”
    synchronization is ESSENTIAL.
The tabs and the indicator are synchronized whenever the switches are held long enough
for the tabs and indicator to reach the fully retracted or fully extended position. Holding
the tab switches on until after the indicator and / or the tabs are fully retracted or fully
extended is the recommended procedure to accomplish synchronization. The indicator
    display automatically dims at night.

Jeff, very interesting I just read through the manual. Are you going to try it? Jeff if you try it and they work, I feel they'll get a few orders. Jeff, before I placed an order I'd still call the company first and tell them your tabs are wired together and ask if that would make any difference. It doesn't sound like it would as its just counting the 8 seconds. I guess it would just get the same reading on both sides of the gauge.

    Re: Sandy (FishNH)

I spoke to a guy at Lovrsi a few months back about the Gauge and it is made for the Lenco tabs he told me that if I don't have the control box and wiring harness that I would have to purchase that separately from Lenco. But the gauge itself would work with the Lenco tabs as that is what it was built for... But it may be best if you call them because I am not that good with electrical parts nor do I fully understand some of the terminology that people use that do know all this electrical language.. I just know how to make boats go faster and occasionally how to catch a fish
