    wooden transom?

I am looking to buy a 99 cobra 202. Just wanted to know if the transom was wood or glass on these boats?

    Re: wooden transom? (stump bumper)

It is a well done wood encased in glass transom on that year Cobra. Unless water has gotten into it, these boats have had very few transom problems.

stump bumper, don't let a wooden transom deter you from purchasing a Cobra. Boats have been made that way for years and years and there are plenty of them still on the water today. As Alan noted, the wood is encapsulated in fiberglass and will serve you well for years to come provided the fiberglass is not cracked allowing water to get to the wood.

I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!
