05 Etec 225. Water in lower unit. Milky grey oil.

So I drained my lower unit fluid today and sadly some water came out as well as grey colored oil. It wasn't a lot of water less than a shot glass full I'd say. But the oil is very grey. And definetly does have some metal filings in it. Now I bought this boat used with roughly 200 hrs on it. Not sure when the last time the lower unit fluid was changed. So I'm just wondering if this is something to worry about right now? Or should I just change it out with fresh fluid and run it till it goes. Any Etec owners experience this? Any help or past experience would help thanks.

I would have the lower unit serviced IE seals replaced. If you are able to perform mechanical repairs and have the needed tools then you can do this yourself.

Was there excessive metal shavings/chunks on lower screw magnet? small shavings are not abnormal if it hasn't been changed ever/ in a while? If not lower unit may be fine just needs serviced and seals.... Probably not a huge deal unless damaged metal is evident.
