    Pro Troll Install Complete

Well I installed the Pro Troll today in about 2 hours, pretty easy. I didn't realize there was so much foam in there. What do you all think?

I screwed the template to the deck for an exact cut.

Tools used plus one butcher knife

Pilot holes for the jig saw

The deck was stuck pretty good to the foam.

    The finished product.

    Dwayne

I installed one in my snake several months back, the lip is not very tall I have never had a problem. I would recomend the Pro Troll.

Where were you able to purchase that product? Is there one for each type of brand, or one fits both?
    Thanks

Comfortroll. Not sure how it looks but it cost $139.00. I got this from a BBC sponser for $97.00 and it does the same job.

I haven't installed my tray yet, however the question I have is do you think it would be wise to put supports under the deck where the edges of the tray sits or do you think it is structurally sound enough to not weaken

As long as you cut the hole the correct size you won't have any problems. Not sure how to support it anyways.

Re: Pro Troll Install Complete (Dwayne)

I was going to take 1/2 " treated plywood and encapsulate it in resin, cut it to fit from the hull to the bottom of the deck and use liquid nails to secure it in place. It would sure take a lot work to get the supports to fit correctly. More than I want to do if it is not necessary. Jim

Re: Pro Troll Install Complete (Jiggen)

James...No supports needed. I've never heard of one failing (breaking through the front deck) and there's some pretty big boys out there that use them (250lbs +). The only way I could see a problem would be if you cut the opening too big and there wasn't enough edge left for the screws to grab. Measure twice and cut once....just follow the template and it'll come out looking just like the one pictured above.

Re: Pro Troll Install Complete (Backlash Ar)

Thanks for the reply. I most likely won't install it to next spring ( cold here in upstate NY ) however I will nix the support idea and save myself a bunch of work. Jim
