I'm still waiting on this Hurricane to get out of the way so I can run one. I was hoping this would be the week.

I believe it! I passed over the river when the wind was at its peak. It was crazy to see it like it was. I wouldn't want to be in a barge on it when the wind was 60mph.

The Fury lives up to its hype on a Cobra 201D. It had a great holeshot and mid-range pull could be felt in the seat of your pants. It accelerated to 73 mph in the quarter mile and bumped 77mph a few times loaded. The RPM's were just right for my engine and I must say I was very impressed. The long barrel gave the boat plenty of stern lift and the boat did not ride bow high at all. I will have a Fury of my own next week! I added it to the list!

    Re: Fury test (Psychologist)

    Good post.

Ive got a 201SC with 225 Optimax (06 pwrhead and elec) and 6 inch jack plate. I would be REAL happy if I got similar results.

Ive got a 26P Trophy plus - 4 blade. Real good out of the hole, but midrange is not as good as the Ballistic prop that I tried. I run 3500-4500 for the most part.

Pscyh, you seem to know these boats/motors pretty well. How far off is the pro xs + 12 inch slide to my opti-6 inch?

I am not sure. The smallest plate I have run was a 10". The boats bow lift better with some setback. They also carry a load much better with the larger plates from what I can tell. What is your setup and numbers right now?

    Re: Fury test (Psychologist)

Not sure of top end yet as I am still in break in. Motor has only 2 hours on it when I bought it.

Ive not measured the pad height from prop, but it appears to be around 3.0" from what I can guess. I need to measure when I start tweaking. Im showing about 15 PSI @ 4000 RPM if the gages are accurate

26P Trophy Prop - 4 blade. I havent run the boat over 4300 RPM, but it feels strong. Mid range is weak from what I can gather. I had a ballistic 26P 3 blade from my old Champion. Out of the hole sucked, but the mid range was much better. On my 202 Elite, the Ballistic was 6-7 mph faster @ 4000 RPM than the Trophy plus 26P 4 blade. Top end was about 1 MPH faster on the Trophy- 73. Two different boats, but I am guessing the end results will be similiar.

I should have on board electronics with GPS by the end of the month. 1197's aint cheap.

A 25 Trophy seems to run better on the Cobras. They are a different design than the 26-28 Pitch Trophy. A good B&B'd 25 will make a world of a difference on a Cobra!

Not a clue. I have never setup a Yamaha on a Cobra.

So with my 200 on my 190 this 25P Tempest Plus prop worked by Mark would be better than the Fury? I do not have a JP.

    Re: Fury test (Dwayne)

You need to get a jackplate....all props run differently at the same height and height needs to be adjusted according to the propeller. The Fury actually ran very high on the jackplate which I didn't understand because it is a small diameter propeller.

I would say with a Jackplate, the Fury will your best performing propeller.
