I recently purchased a 1984 Evinrude 150 Limited Edition outboard mounted to a 1984 Ranger 350V
Model number E150ANCRS
This will be the first time the motor has been started in a year. There is no gas in the tanks and I am concerned of the deposits, gunk, etc. that may have built up in the tank and am looking for suggestions for the first time I put gas/oil in the tanks. I am afraid that there will be deposits that will be loosened and eventually making thier way to the carbs on the engine which will lead to further problems.
Any tips on what I can do to minimize this risk? One person I have talked to suggested getting in line fuel filters for the gas lines but not sure if that is the way to go. Should I even be worried at this point because the there was no gas in the tanks to begin with?
Confused,
