I have been wanting to put one in my boat for awhile now, just have not had the time.
Someone sent me this page when I started considering it. Check the picture all the way to the right.

I put one in my 216, best thing I've done since buying the boat. Look at this link.

The Flatfoot and ProControl are popular, but I've seen one made from fiberglass that matches the boat's topcap. It is far more aesthetic to the hull and is a better fit in that it has rounded and blend corners and edges. The metal ones are somewhat stark in appearance.
I'll try to find a link to it. I originally saw it on fishingworld.com, but it's not there anymore. It's call a trolling motor tub or something like that.

MigAz the fiberglass ones came and went quickly. They are gone and the Flat Foot is still here as it has been for almost 6 years now. Guess the stark appearance has longivity.LOL
I know you can get them (Flat Foot) at Cabela's and Marine Grade Marketing in Nixa, MO is the distributor for them. You won't be sorry you installed a Flat Foot recess or any type of recess for your TM pedal. They are a back saver for sure.
There is a non-metal one called Pro Tray. Have heard a lot of good things about them. Somewhere on this site (do a search) are instructions for installation of recessed trays/pans.
Lucky for me, my new Champ came with the recessed pan already molded in the topcap. Great "invention"!
